Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to connect with us. There is no better way for us to hear about your successes, needs, and challenges than in person.
We’re excited to present sessions focused on our theme for this year – “Expanding the Possibilities.” From the increase in staffing to growth in product benefits to the introduction of new technologies, we actively pursue new ways to expand our solutions to best serve your needs. We will provide product roadmaps, training opportunities on the best use of our products, and regulatory updates while providing plenty of time to network with other users and ESC Spectrum employees. We’re happy to host many of our key vendor partners and encourage you to visit with them.
We’ve had many changes throughout 2023. Aside from expanding our best-in-class products and services, we’ve grown our organization by adding 34 new employees to serve you better and implementing internal changes to increase operational efficiency. Along with these gains, we have also experienced some losses.
Mark Shell served ESC Spectrum for 40+ years (yes, since 1982!) before retiring early this year. He played many roles in the company, including designing hardware for the 8816 Data Controller, serving as a DAS project engineer and project manager, managing the entire operations team, and his most recent role on the senior leadership team with overall responsibility for product development. Mark embodied our core values of “we, not me,” “game-on,” and “do right by the customer” and is one of the people whose attributes we modeled when we defined these values (he was unaware of this at the time). We deeply miss his contributions and presence.
In Spring 2024, long-time Senior Regulatory & Reporting Engineer Jon Konings, one of the founding members of the ESC Spectrum User Group and Steering Committee, will also retire. Jon worked with ESC Spectrum as a CEM Coordinator at We Energies, then came to work for us for the past decade. His contributions to the company are immeasurable, not only in his dedication to work but as a good friend to so many.
In the Summer 2024, Lead Senior Regulatory and Reporting Engineer Suzanne Dibert will also retire. Since joining ESC Spectrum in June 2004, she has become an expert of all things reporting for StackVision including special reporting needs for Pennsylvania. Suzanne has had a real effect on everyone on the DAS operations team, sharing her knowledge and selflessly helping however she can across countless projects. She is not only a technical expert, but a great teacher and is always there for anyone in need. She’s a terrific employee, one of the best, and to say she’ll be missed is an understatement.
With great sadness, we shared the news that Shaun Ellis passed away in May of this year. Shaun battled cancer for a long time and was a true fighter. He came to ESC Spectrum in 1999. He started in the Data Controller support group, moved to software support, became a software support manager, and then a product manager. He is dearly missed by all of us.
We want to express our profound gratitude for the many years of service from these ESC Spectrum employees while looking forward to the future and what new members of our team and ever-changing technologies will bring us. We appreciate your continued support of our community and making this event successful year after year.
Here’s to three days of learning and sharing experiences and insights!
Sincerely,
The ESC Spectrum Senior Leadership Team
